Chauffeur Gives and Receives Unusual Gifts

Last week, I had the priviledge of chauffeuring Sandra Yancey around Columbus, Ohio for a day. Sandra is the Founder and CEO of eWomenNetwork, which is an unbelieveable networking organization for women in business.

I have been a member of eWomenNetwork for about 4 years—shortly after I started this business. I have seen Sandra on several occasions. She makes the “circuit” and attends different chapters around the country. She is a dynamic speaker—speaks from the heart. I have also been to the eWomenNetwork conference in Dallas Texas. It is quite an event and I have been impressed with Sandra’s energy, knowledge and compassion. You can understand how excited I was when the Columbus, Ohio eWomenNetwork Managing Director, Amy Ostigny, asked me to be Sandra’s “wheels” for the time that she was in Columbus. I jumped on that chance!!!

As is Sandra’s nature (and the philosophy behind eWomenNetwork), the first thing that she asked me was, “How can I help you with your business? What do you need?” Boy, did I jump on that and shared with her my business story. It was wonderful to share with Sandra the fascinating story of Deborah Ann Bamboo.

Saving Money 101 – How to Save Money With Bamboo Blankets, Robes, Throws and Towels

Aren’t we all into saving money? Some people will travel from grocery store to grocery store, just to save a few pennies here and there. Do you know that person who shops for canned goods at one store, produce at another and sundries (laundry soap, cleaning products, etc.) at yet another business? Bravo for them!! If they have the time, energy and inclination, they should go for it. Saving money here and there helps the bottom line.

People are getting more familiar with bamboo towels. Once they use them, they are discovering that these are the best bamboo towels—the best towels that they have ever dried with. Any bamboo textile, whether it’s towels, robes, bamboo blankets or sheets are usually more expensive than the same type of product made from cotton. But did you ever take into consideration that bamboo textiles don’t need to be laundered as frequently or that you don’t use as many laundry products on bamboo linens?

They don’t smell fresh, so most people are under the impression that bleach will get the smell out (not true) and cotton towels are so rough that fabric softener is used to promote softness.

Bamboo towels don’t need laundered as often and no bleach or fabric softener is used on these towels. Taking into consideration the less frequent washing and eliminating fabric softener and bleach, the year savings for caring for bamboo towels as opposed to cotton towels is about $26.00 a year. That may not sound like much but you are not only saving on products but also saving yourself time (less time sorting and washing those towels.) You are also getting a far superior product.
